The Mi-26, developed in the late 1970s by the construction office MIL, is the largest and heaviest series helicopter in Russia. Production takes place at the Rostvertol plant, which belongs to the Russian Helicopters group. More than 300 machines have already been manufactured. The Mi-26 can carry up to 20 tons of payload in the cargo hold or on an outdoor load suspension. Thanks to these unique properties, it is suitable for military and civilian purposes, from the polar regions to the equator. The helicopter is in use in Russia and internationally.
